Honey Garlic Ribs

This recipe fits into the Autoimmune Paleo (AIP) Protocol under reintroduction stage 2. If you’re not there yet just omit the faux paprika & the cumin.

I will give some non-AIP suggestions for the ingredients when possible

You can certainly skip the broiling step if desired

Equipment:

  • Crockpot

  • Measuring cups & spoons

  • Small mixing bowl

  • Spatula

  • Whisk

  • Slotted spoon

  • Baking Sheet

  • Parchment paper

  • Oven/Broiler

Ingredients:

3 lb. Pork Ribs, cut into your preferred sized sections

2 TBSP Coconut Sugar or Brown Sugar, optional

2 tsp Garlic Powder

1 tsp Onion Powder

1 tsp Turmeric

½ tsp Cumin

½ tsp Faux Paprika or Paprika

2 tsp Salt

Sauce:

½ cup Honey

¼ cup Coconut Aminos or Soy Sauce

4 cloves Garlic, minced

Turmeric & Ginger Fermented Honey, see notes

Instructions:

  1. Cut your ribs into desired sized pieces & place them in to the crockpot

  2. In a small bowl mix together the sauce ingredients

  3. Pour half the sauce over top of the ribs & place the other half in the refrigerator. Mix well to make sure all pieces of rib are coated with the sauce

  4. Cook the ribs on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours

  5. Once the ribs are cooked place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Pour the remaining sauce over the ribs. Broil them for 3-5 minutes then flip them & broil another 3-5 minutes

  6. Place the ribs back into the crockpot until you are ready to enjoy them!

Notes:

  • If you don’t have this just add ½ - 1 tsp each turmeric & ginger. If you do have some on hand be sure to add some of the fermented honey into the sauce as well
