Pine Vinegar

Let’s make an all natural all purpose cleaning product, degreaser, descaler & even floor washing vinegar. You could even use this in various culinary recipes such as salad dressing, marinades & sauces. This vinegar really does it all, you can even use it as an immune system support as pine needles are high in vitamins A & C as well as being used traditionally for cold & flu support

Equipment:

  • 1-2 Mixing bowls

  • Mason jar with lid

  • Parchment or wax paper

  • Fine mesh strainer

  • Muslin or coffee filter

Ingredients:

Pine needles

Vinegar, see notes

Instructions:

  1. Collect your pine needles & place them in a large bowl

  2. Remove the needles from the sticks & place them in a secondary bowl

  3. Loosely pack your needles in a mason jar

  4. Cover the needles with vinegar making sure they are fully submerged

  5. Place a piece of parchment or wax paper over top & add your lid

  6. Shake the jar daily for 4-6 weeks

  7. Once your extraction is complete strain the needles from the vinegar

To use:

  • For a cleaning product: dilute 1:1 with distilled water

  • As a degreaser or descaler: no need to dilute

  • As a culinary ingredient: no need to dilute

  • As an immune support: dilute a 1-3 tsp in warm water. Use a straw when you are consuming it & be sure to rinse your mouth so the acidity from the vinegar doesn’t harm your tooth enamel

Notes:

  • Depending on your intended uses for this vinegar will depend on what type you are using. If you are looking to make an all natural cleaning product use while distilled vinegar. If you are looking to make a culinary or medicinal vinegar I would use raw apple cider vinegar.
