Brown Sugar
Making your own brown sugar is one of the easiest things you can make to stock your own pantry
I did write an entire blog article about this process a while ago that you can check out HERE where I talked about the different types of molasses & what they have to offer.
Equipment:
Mixing bowl
Whisk
Storage container
Ingredients:
Granulated Sugar
Molasses
Instructions:
Place your granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl
Create a well in the middle & add your desired amount of molasses. If you aren’t sure exactly how much to add you can always increase the amount but you can’t remove it once it’s mixed in
Using a whisk first start to mix the molasses into the sugar for a few minutes
Move onto using your hands to combine being sure to crush any clumpy bits between your fingers
Place your brown sugar in your storage container
Shelf life:
Up to 6 months in an airtight container
Notes:
Using a tera cotta disk in your storage container will help extend the shelf life
You can use a stand mixer instead of hands & a whisk
