Aloe Vera Gel from Aloe Vera Powder
This is the second aloe vera formulation I’m sharing. While it does have some additional ingredients it’s just as simple to mix up
The main difference, apart from the addition of some more skin loving ingredients, is we’re making this gel from aloe vera powder whereas the previous formulation was made from aloe vera juice
I do find that the powder produces a bit of a hazy end product, but clarity does not equal efficiency
I will ask that you get your raw ingredients from a reputable website, not Amazon. It’s great for a lot of things, raw ingredients for cosmetics just is not one of them

In the USA:
If you make this formulation as written you will end up with a 100g batch, feel free to upscale or downscale the formulation. This formulation is for personal use only, not for resale
Equipment:
Beaker
Weigh boat, optional you can use another beaker
Digital scale
Hot plate or water bath
Thermometer
Whisks
Spatula
Immersion blender with frother attachment, or a whisk with some elbow grease will work just fine
Plastic wrap
Funnel
Storage container with a disc cap
Ingredients:
Phase A
1% 100X Aloe Vera Powder
85% Distilled Water
Phase B
4% Propanediol 1,3
5% High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid
2% Liquid Panthenol, see notes
0.5% Allantoin
Phase C
0.5% Liquid Germall Plus
Phase D
1.5% Sepimax Zen
Method:
Mix phase A together in a beaker & mixing well
Mix phase B into a heat proof beaker
Add phase A into phase B mixing until well combined. Don’t worry if your powder isn’t fully dissolved yet, it will be once we add some heat
Place the B on a hot plate or in a water bath
Using a thermometer heat the mixture to 50-60C
Remove from heat & allow to cool below 40C
Sprinkle over phase D. DO NOT STIR. Cover with plastic wrap & leave over night to hydrate. This will take at least 8 hours to hydrate
Once fully hydrated using an immersion blender or a whisk blend the gel until it is smooth & uniform. If you notice that only the top is thickened, leave it alone to hydrate a bit longer
Pour your gel into your storage container
Notes:
200X aloe vera powder could be substituted, just use 0.5% & add the 0.5% back into the distilled water portion
If you are using the powder version of panthenol use 1% & add 1% back into the distilled water portion
If you want to add a colorant use a water soluble one before you add phase D
If you want to add an extract use a water soluble one & subtract the amount from the distilled water portion. Add this into phase C
This gel is not going to be as clear as commercial aloe vera gels but clarity does not equal efficiency in a product
